Storyboard

This is my original storyboard which shows frame by frame what I intend to include within my music video. I believe that throughout the things that I have included there are connotations of fear and freedom, and these two ideas juxtapose one another. 
However I have decided to be more simplistic with my idea, and film Shannon doing some expressionist dance moves, both representing happy and sad emotions so the two juxtapose each other. Also I have decided to film fireworks and facial expressions, so that these can be put in between Shannon's dance moves so it breaks it up more and adds more depth.

Music Video Structure

Katy Perry- Roar   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CevxZvSJLk8 Music videos often contain a number of different elements: Performance, Narrative, Thematic, Symbolic. Performance- In Katy Perry's Roar video she is seen to appear performing in an unusual surrounding, which in this case is a jungle. The video contains many close ups of the artist and there is a particular visual style that seems to go with the artist which is her clothing. Katy is the figure of an erotic gaze, an object of male desire which is a voyeuristic gaze. Narrative- The video tells a story that is featured in the lyrics or is suggested by the lyrics. In this music video binary opposites are used to show the day vs the night. Also Todorov's narrative theory is shown in this music video as, at the beginning there is a clear equilibrium which clearly sets the scene with both male and female being in the frame, a disruption then occurs when the tiger comes on screen sweeping the male of his feet.
